Five Questions With… Makeup Artist Nate Palacios

1. What is your skincare routine?

A key factor in all my skincare is hydration. I use Bioderma’s Sensibio H20 for sensitive skin to cleanse. Works great to ensure my skin is cleansed of impurities while still making sure it isn’t stripped of its moisture (and it’s a no-rinse product, as well!). Then I moisturize with the Murad Essential-C Day Moisturizer. It has an SPF of 30 and the Vitamin C helps with collagen production which I feel is important for every young adult. For my eye cream, I use the Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye cream. I also exfoliate twice a week at night with Ole Henricksen’s Walnut Complexion Scrub.

2. Do you use a lip balm to moisturize your lips or, are you a just lick ‘em kind of guy?

Love lip balm! I use Rosebud Salve. Super moisturizing and has a super subtle rose tint to it.

3. To mani/pedi or not to mani/pedi?

Depends on your lifestyle. Personally, I typically don’t opt for either. But they can certainly be nice to get.

4. What product(s) do you use in your hair?

Straight out of the shower, I use TO112’s hair serum (the company is awesome and was started in Toronto and created by celebrity colourist Luis Pacheco) and then Alterna’s Caviar CC hair cream to style and separate my waves. My hair is naturally very thick and coarse so the more conditioning the leave-in products are, the better! I let my hair air dry from there.

5. What’s your favorite product that you can’t live without?

Skincare product: Moisturizer
Make Up product: Concealer

Nate is a Toronto-based make up artist. He was first introduced to the industry as a freelance fashion and portrait photographer and, from there, made the comfortable transition into freelance make up. Loves inner beauty over outer beauty and long walks to the nearest salad bar.
